Verse for Thought
"Tell them that as surely as I am the living Lord God, I don't like to see wicked people die. I enjoy seeing them turn from their sins and live. So if the Israelites want to live, they must stop sinning and turn back to me."
({Exekiel 33:11 CEV})

Early research provided by John and Barbra Senier of York Springs Pa. Stephen Folk was the owner of he property and a 38'X 28' mill that was on the property prior acertained by the 1798 Federal Direct Tax record. The 40'X 55' stone & frame mill is comprised of 2.5 stories.

The newer mill was built either because the smaller mill had burned or a larger mill was needed. In any event, the newer mill was rebuilt with frame on the original stone foundation, some of which may have been also rebuilt.

The date stone mentions house, probably referring to a millhouse or mill. G. E. Crowel, stone mason, built the mill for George Smith in the year 1805. *Update: LeRoy Zeigler and his brother Ty purchased the mill in 1941. It is believed the most recent operation of the mill was in approximately 1953. During the renovation, concrete was removed from the first and second story and under the concrete were newspapers (to prevent the wet concrete from seeping through the cracks). The most recent newspaper was dated 1953. Matthew Zeigler 01/14/2008*

The mill is situated where two roads, Lime Rock Mill Road and Old Zeigler's Mill Road, meet Cranberry Road by the Burmudian Creek at the former community of Lime Rock Mill.

*Update: The mill is currently owned by Matthew Zeigler, grandson of Leroy Zeigler. The mill came under the name of Zeigler Feed Mills (today known as Zeigler Bros., Inc.). Zeigler Bros., Inc. in East Berlin just burned in February 2007. Matthew Zeigler 01/14/2008*
