Samuel E. Perry built the first mill on this site in 1703.
In 1825, the water power was not enough, so the owners, the Waltons, moved the mill 500 feet to its present location.
Millstone
It became known as Carpenter's Grist Mill after 1874; when, the Carpenter family became the owners.
