One source of information states the first mill at Harveyville was originally built in 1798, completed by Elisha Harvey, of Pymouth, in 1799 on Huntington Creek.

This mill became the property of his son, Benjamin Harvey; who, built a much nicer mill in 1837 to replace the earlier mill.

A. N. Harvey, who died at the age of 63, was the proprietor of the store and grist mill in the mid to late 1800's. He died in 1890. He was the son of Benjamin Harvey. This mill was replaced by the present mill, a large flouring mill, the same year it burned in 1869, and was later operated by A.N. Harvey heirs.
