From Pa 401 turn right on St Matthews Rd. which is not quite a mile northwest of Community of Matthews at the Chester Springs intersection with Pa 401. Go 1.4 miles on St. Matthews Rd. to Horseshoe Trail, turn left and go 0.6 miles to the mill just past Mill Rd. on the left before Hollow Rd. junc. on the right

The 45'X 55' limestone/sandstone mill built in 1743 and restored in 1956. The mill has been converted into a dwelling, with large decks built out on the creek side to make full advantage of the door arrangement. The stone work on the east end of the mill above seens to have new stone from the gabel peak to the ground and about 15 feet wide. Doors on the end were probably removed and the area restoned. In 1992, the folks living there said it had been restored/remodeled in 1956. Need more milling history for this mill.
