The mill was built in 1982 on the foundation of an earlier mill, using 200-year-old materials. Reconstruction is currently under way. The mill has a century-old sawmill steam engine which was made by the Erie Engine Works, Erie, Pa, as well as 15 machines made by the Abbott Downing Co., makers of the famous Concord coach.
