Brown's Mill / Watkins Mill / Phoenix Mill / Dominion Mill
From downtown Alexandria, go west on Duke Street about 2 miles to Wheeler Ave. on the left. Turn left and go a short distance to the mill on the left at 3642 Wheeler Ave.

Built in 1802, the original mill used an 19' diameter water wheel to power the milling machinery.
Four runs of millstones produced flour in the 4 story brick mill built while George Washington was in office.
The mill is in excellent condition today, but the waterwheel and machinery were removed in the 1930's.
