Mullica Hill Grist Mill / Old Mill Antiques
On the corner of Mill Rd. and Main St. in the town of Mullica Hill. NJ 45 & US 322 combine at Main Street at the mill along Raccoon Creek.
Mullica Grist Mill is one of four original buildings extant in this section of Mullica Hill that date back to before the Revolutionary War.
The grist/feed mill survived the many years since its construction. A woolen mill and iron works sucumbed to the advances of modernization and were lost to present and future generations.
Soon after the Civil War, a railroad spur line was forged into service to the grain mill and the town became an important and thriving shipping center for agricultural products.
Two taverns and a small cluster of homes joined the gristmill in the early stages of the community. The mill served the local farmers with grain grinding services, flour supply, farm equipment, and other staples for rural farm living in the 18th & 19th centuries.
About 1967, the mills strategic location and viability enabled the beginnings of a antique business to spring up in the facility. This antique mall is closely united with the antique mall established in the old Brown Mill in Pemberton, N. J.
