Zook / Fisher Mill
Chester Co. | Pennsylvania | USA
Watersource: Honeybrook Branch of Brandywine Creek.
Zook / Fisher Mill
South from Honeybrook on Sh 10 about one mile, left (west) on Camridge Road about 1.2 miles to Mill Road on the east edge of Cambridge, right turn on Mill Road and continue about one mile to the creek and the mill on the left.
The fieldstone/partly stuccoed 35'X 45' stone mill of 2.5-3.5 stories was damaged in a fire and repaired in 1898.
The mill again burned and was rebuilt in 1929; but, apparently this was right at the time of many small mills closing down and it proved economically unfeasible to continue operations, so the mill closed.
The number of floors in the mill is hard to decipher, with doors at varying heights. It could be 2.5 stoies or maybe even 3.5 stories in the interior. More history is needed about this mill.
