York Street Well #1 Mill
On the northeast edge of Milford at the junction of NJ 519/Water Street, York Street, and Mill Street.
The main mill structure, with the catsheads on either end, measures approximately 30'X 40'.
The addition of 1938 is about 16'-18'X 40' with a gabel roof at a right angle to the main mill.
The main mill section has a catshead on the rear with three vertical doors aligned below. The section to right angles to the main structure is the part built in 1938.
The rear of the mill/now part of the Milford Water Plant from the now filled-in headrace.
The small addition on the right is most likely an electrical controls room added since the mill was converted for use by the Milford Water Treatment facility.
The former mill is in the now dedicated W. Egbert Thomas Park in Milford. More information would be greatly appreciated.
