The first mill on this site was built of logs by David Holsinger c. 1802.

The present mill, built in 1880 after the 1842 mill was destroyed by fire in 1879, is the third at this location.

The beatiful dam behind the mill is often used for fishing, especially by the Amish in the area.

The current mill surviving was known as Hoover's Mill, owned by various owners until it's closing in 1962.
