The 40'X 60' sandstone/brownstone mill was rebuilt in 1813 by Mathias Shirk after it had burned. Gid Weaver bought the rebuilt mill from Mathias Shirk for use as Weaver's Wagon Wheel Shop. Christian Weaver had built the first mill in 1797 and operated it through the first decade of the 1800's until the mill was destroyed by fire.
Chtristian Weaver had owned two mills from 1797 to 1813. this one and the Weaver Mill on the site that in 1868, the Spring Grove Mill (Pa-36-13-04) was built/the former Spring Grove Forge and Furnace on the Conestoga River.
In 1880, the wagon shop was converted to the current grist mill by Aaron G. Weaver, who operated and owned it through 1899. In 1900, another Christian Weaver was in charge. The mill was used for storage in 1994; and in 2005, looked to be in very good condition.
