Trovinger Grist Mill / Rohrer's Mill
Located on Trovinger Mill Rd., 3 miles east of Hagerstown. Take Sh 64/Jeffferson Blvd. east from Hagerstown. At the east end of Bridgeport turn left on Trovinger Mill Rd on the north side of Rt. 64. Drive until you cross the second creek. The mill will be on the west side of the road at a sharp bend in the road.
The grist mill, known as Trovinger's Grist Mill and Rohrer's Mill, was built in 1771. It could best be described as being in the Post-Medieval architectural style.
Some restoration work had been done, more as a stabilization stop-gap, prior to the year 2001, but now seems to be slowly deteriorating. It is part of a well kept farm.
The structure was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. The visible section from Trovinger Mill Road, the front and right side, appears to be holding its own against the ravages of the elements.
