Taneytown Mill
At the junction of Md 140/Taneytown Pike and Md 194/Francis Scott Key Hwy, procede one block SE, turn right on Mill Ave., and go one block to the mill on the right.
The grain elevator feed mill was built in 1899 by the Farmers Warehouse Company.
The arrival of the Frederick & Pennsylvania Line Railroad through Taneytown brought wih it the ability to ship grain and feed from Taneytown to distant destinations.
Some of the original developers of the mill and on the board of directors were; Samuel Stover, Calvin Fringer, Edward Kemper, Joseph Roelky, & G.W. Baumgardner.
The mill was later leased to the Taneytown Elevator Company, which eventually became known as the Taneytown Grain & Supply.
Quaker Dairy Feeds were a featured brand of feeds available at the elevator/feed mill.
Later on, Purena Chows Feed line of feeds were added.
