Take U.S. 46 east from Hackettstown for 2 miles, then make right turn onto Drakestown Rd. and go 1.5 miles. Next turn left onto Flanders River Rd. and travel 1.3 miles. Mill is on left at junction with Stephen's Mill Rd.
Attractive 3.5 story stone grist mill with the upper story & half of frame. Mill is in a very beautiful tree-shaded setting especilly scenic in the autumn. The mill looks as though the frame part was added on later or perhaps after a fire. A fire could account for the stone portion being Plastered white because fire blackened brick would look less attractive. this is pure conjecture on my part: the web manager.
The front has a catshead/lift system incorporated into the gable overhang. The Stephen's Mill Rd. side of the building finds two doors , one right above the other, close to the front corner. White plaster/stucco with barn red upper story and doors make for a handsomely preserved mill.
