The picture from Allentown Road is good with a telephoto lens. The actual access to the property is probably from Rosedale Road or further east to the next road left, Dale Road. The township or county was going to develop it into a learning/demonstration mill. The original catshead is still attached to the stone portion of the mill, but covered over by the frame extension. *Update: The access road to the mill is from Allentown Road right after the four-way stop signs and right before the huge curve in the road. There used to be a toll road there that went to the mill and back out to Allentown Road right after the curve. There was also an access road to the property from Rosedale Road. The 35'x45' mill is two-thirds stone/stucco 3.5 stories and one-third frame construction of 2.5 stories, the bottom open to drive under. The bag hoist is under the frame portion. It was last used as a chicken house but owners plan to renovate/county or township restoration as already mentioned.

A long headrace leads from either Licking Cr. or another trib. of Unami Creek to a holding dam, then through a conduit (penstock) to an undershot wheel. *Update: The Zataveski family bought the mill property in February 1996, after the rear end wall, toward the barn, had been struck by lightning. The wall was supported but eventually collapsed.

Update cont'd: Michael Bishop received the water rights for the dam in 1760 so the mill was probably built before 1850. In the picture, the house is to the right the barn to the left. We had made attempts to gain support and funding to restore the mill but we were not granted help in funding a restoration.

Update cont'd: The slate roof caved in and destroyed the wood floors. We still have the water wheel, mill stones, and anything else that was left in there from the previous owner. The day before the roof caved, my dad walked through the mill and video taped the inside. The restored miller's house shown in the photograph. Chrissy Zataveski 02/08/2007*
