David Zug constructed the 40x50 foot, 2.5 story fieldstone mill in 1823. An earlier mill was built by Nathan Evans in 1753. Purchased by Jacob Grube in 1864 and owned by Martin Grube (relative?) in 1899. An overshot wheel was used during milling operations. The mill is presently used as a barn, having closed for milling in 1923, and is in very good shape.

The mill was fed by a mountain spring, thus it was named Spring Mill. The flour and grist mill was supplied the mountain spring waters via a 1500' headrace from an 8' dam and the used waters traversed 1300'before emtying into the Conestoga River.
