Take 6th St. at the N end of East Greenville west for about 1 mile, then turn right onto Water St., go about 0.5 mile and turn left onto Peevy Rd. The mill is about 500 ft. on the left.
The mill, built in 1891 by Monroe and Mary Jane Snyder measures roughly 35'x55' and stands 3.5 stories in height. The first story is fieldstone while the remainder is of brick construction. Some former owners/millers were; Mumbauer, Hellman, and Bieler. It was owned by the Comlys in 1987, with Comly's Gifts in the lower portion for certain. More info please.
The mill has 4 doors on each end with a small one story attached building on the rear end. very good condition in 1987. The mill has a hip roof with five dormer windows on each side on the lower slope. The brick miller's house is just south of the mill.
The NW corner of the mill is near where the headrace is channeled under the road. The corner blocks just above the yellow pole are made from cut pieces of a millstone.
The date stone indicates the builders, Monroe & Mary Jane Snyder, erected this mill in the year 1891.
The miller's house sit back from the road out from the SE corner of the impressive structure.
