Was located SW of Newport near the junction Of Sh 34 and Sh 274 on the south side of Sh 274.
W. H. Frank Garber built the mill in 1889 on what today is a parking lot. The mill featured Conewago Feeds.
Garber ran the mill using one set of buhrstones, later switching to three stands of rollers, until 1918, when he sold the mill to Hoffman & McClure.
Robert McClure bought Hoffman's share of the mill in 1920, ran the mill another 15 years, and finally sold it to mill operators Herbert P. Dyson & Edgar, his son. The Dysons owned mills in Loysville, Blain, Newville, and Boiling Springs.
From 1953-1957, the ownwers were Dr.Dorne Hower and his sister, Mrs. Robinson. The Zeigler Brothers, LeRoye & Tye, bought the mill in 1957. The Zeigler Bros. also run a large commercial mill in East Berlin, Adams Co.
This mill was torn down in the late 1990's or early 2010's. The owner of the service station next to the former mill site gave permission for the vintage photos to be digitally photographed to be used on this website. The Zeigler Bros Mill in East Berlin, Adams Co. had a 5 alarm fire on March 6, 2007.
