Shillinger's Mill
Located 3.5 miles east of Phillipsburg, N.J. on NJ 57 near Coopersville. Turn north on Lows Hollow Road. The mill is within the first 0.25 miles on the right.
The mill utilized an overshot wheel but was non-operating in 1992; although, it was still part of an operating coal and fuel oil business.
Jake Shillinger built the 35'X 40'stone and frame grist mill in 1866. The 3.5 story mill, bottom story stone, with a 25'X 20'stone and frame addition has been renovated. An 1873 atlas of Greenwich Twp., Warren Co. by Beer, Comstock, & Cline showed the name of Shillinger & Kichline Grist Mill.
The mill has been renovated in the intervening 15 years since photos were taken.
