The 35'X 45' stone mill built to 3.5 stories in 1792, had been substantially renovated in the late 1970's/early 1980's as a dwelling. Originally, there were two mills on the 20 acre property; but, the property was divided and only the one mill now remains on a 9.2 acre parcel.

The stream/raceway was diverted off to the southeast side of the mill early in the restoration. The difference from the 1st picture to the 3rd picture represents about 6.5 years. The mill was for sale in the early 1990's under the Lisa James Otto Country Properties realty. *Update: The mill has undergone more changes, mostly from 2005-2007. Two large additions were constructed, using wood and stone compatable with the already existing 1800's mill structure. The square footage was increased to about 14,000 square feet on the 9.7 acre parcel of land. The house has been featured in Arts and Crafts Homes and Style 1900 for the Feb issue of 2008. A carriage shed more recently built is on the left in the photo. The mill has been renovated to the extent that it is quite a showplace; a symbol of what can be done with an old historic structure, making it liveable, even somewhat luxurious, and still keep a remnant of the old original function.
