A small German Vernacular mill built a few years before 1775 by Johannes Schneider and features strut-supported roof framing. The mill was enlarged at the close of the colonial period by then operator, Daniel Schneider, a 3rd generation miller. Them mill was changed from a merchant mill into a custom grinding mill.
The water wheel was enclosed from the weather and an addition of frame was built for storage. The mill operated with one set of French buhr stones for fine wheat flour and another set of locally quarried stones for the grinding of all other grains and corn. Operations continued until 1900. The mills lower front door was remodeled to enable storage of farm implements and wagons, probably since closing as a mill. It was in fair-good condition in 1992. Hasn't been visited since.
