Schillig Mill
Located between Canton and Alliance, Ohio in the community of Louisville just off Ohio 62 on Paris Avenue.
The 2.5 story brick feed mill on stone foundation was built originally as the Louisville High School. A new high school was built and the old was purchased by Curtis Schillig who converted it into a feed mill.
His three sons, Herman, Venny , and Albert later bought him out. Albert sold his share to his two brothers, who ran the mill into the 1980's. They sold to another company, which continued in the feed mill business for a few more years. It closed for "good" in the 1990's but is continually being watched over by the Schillig family, since it occupies a special place in their hearts.
Vincent Schillig, Venny, lives across from the mill and remembers days gone by. Another brother, Joe Schillig, lives catty-cornered from the mill. The Schillig family is decended from early settlers in the area and also helped to build the Catholic Church across the street.
