The former lumber mill known as Potter's Lumber Mill. Had been a residence for many years of the 20th century, then possibly vacant for a time. It was finally slated for destruction so the Witthauer Realty firm could build new offices on the land. A public outpour of sentiment and support for keeping the structure resulted in renovation of the existing building in the late 1990's, providing a happy conclusion for all parties involved; thereby providing office space for the realty firm and also saving a historical structure from the wrecking ball.
