This mill is located on CR 40/ Outville Road SW and Walnut Street at the RR tracks, a block south of Cr 34/Blacks Road SW, in the village of Outville, about four miles east of Pataskala, which is at the junction of Sh 310 and Sh 16.
This building site was, at one time, the W. B. Drake hardware store. The store was destroyed by a fire in 1920. The property was purchased by Ben H. Thomas, his brother Earl Thomas, and William Myers on Oct. 3, 1921.
Known as the Outville Hay & Grain Co., their partnership continued for 31 years; when, Earl sold out to the other two. After 33 years, Ben purchased his remaining partner's interest, taking over on Feb. 1, 1955. His son, Paul, then joined him in the business.
