Old Glenrose Grist Mill / Vandive Grist Mill
Take Pa 82 southwest from Coatesville, turn right on Strasburg Road, then left on S. Park Ave., left on Mount Carmel Road. The mill is on the right at the Mount Carmel Rd. and Glenrose Rd. junction.
The mill abviously burned at some point in its history and was capped over with a slightly sloping roof at as little over two stories in height.
The northern end of the dam on Buck Run just about 1000' southwest of the remaining structure.
The dam has breen washed out for some time, part of the dam to the north can be seen olong the creeks edge. Buck Run separates East Fallowfield Twp. from Highland Twp. at this location.
The mill as approaching from Buck Run towards the back of the mill. The roof gradually slpoes to this long side. It was known as the Vandive Grist in in 1860.
There is another mill about 1000' uphill to this mill on Mount Carmel Rd. It had just recently, about a week or two, been scourged by fire. The area still smelled of smoke. This mill will be another entry.
The miller's house on a hill overlooking the mill to the south and a large stone barn at the corner of Glenrose Road.
