Old Carver's Mill
From Doylestown Boro., go 3.3 miles east on Cold Spring Creamery Rd. Jog north, left turn, on Pa 413 for .3 mile, then turn right onto Carversville Rd. (LR 09066) and travel 2 miles to Carversville. At the east side of Carversville, pick up Fleecydale Rd. and follow it about .3 miles to the left turn at Short Rd. (T 418). Mill is right there on creekside of Fleecydale Rd.
The mill had a three doors about in the middle of the front, long side, the top door being in a wooden dormer/catshead arrangement.
The mill is a smaller 25'x 55' fieldstone/sandstone building 2.5 stories high.
The mill was longer, wider, and perhaps a half-story taller when in operation and has since been made into a lovely home sometime prior to the mid-1970's.
The welcoming entryway to the Old Carver Mill converted dwelling.
A horse watering trough, was filled by a natural spring, located across Fleecydale Road from the mill.
The small mill was not commercially as competitive as the many storied later mills, but, was adequate for the local farmer/clientele that depended upon it for its grinding needs.
The mill has been a dwelling since the mid 1900's.
