North of Lambertville on NJ 29, turn right on US 202. Go about 3 miles, turn right on Queen Road/Ch 605. Take this about 0.5 miles to NJ 179, turn right momentarily, then veer left onto Old York Road/Mt.Airy Village Road, go 0.34 miles to the mill on the left at the junction with Mt. Airy Harbourton Road/ Ch 601.
The 2.5 story sandstone building was built in 1743 by Samuel Holcombe on the easiest traveled route between the Delaware River and the Raritan River.
Probably not ever a grist mill, but was used as a general store and a community storehouse, where goods and some perishables were kept from fall to spring, then to be conveyed to the Delaware River in high water season (spring) to be floated down river to Philadelphia and other markets.
The stone storehouse, located at the corner of Mt. Airy-Halbourton Road and Mt. Airy Village Road/Old YorkRoad/Old NJ 179.
