McCracken's Feed Mill
Just off Pa 772 onto New Charlotte St. at Railroad St. along the Conrailtracks.
The company was founded by O. Kenneth McCracken in 1946 and called O.K. McCracken Feeds. Sr. McCracken was joined in the business by his son, Peter B. McCracken after being discharged from the Navy.
O.K. McCracken passed away in 1973. As a result, Peter became a full partner with his mother Evelyn. A year later they incorporated as McCracken's Feed Mill, Inc.
Peter's brother David was a partner for a while, then in 1984, J. Nevin Gish became a partner until his retirement in 2004. During this time, new outlet stores for farm feeds and pet foods and supplies opened in Mountville and also in Elizabethtown. Peter's son Michael purchased some of Gish's stock in the company and now heads up all milling operations. He has worked for McCrackens since 1981.
