The mill was originally built by Berlin F. Bough as Franklin Mills in 1871.

Jacob Mauser aquired the mill in 1882 and operated the mill for many years.

The high volume commercial mill is now part of the large midwest milling conglomerate, Con Agra Grain Processing of Omaha, Ne. Entry is prohibited, without authorization, because of insurance requirements.
