Manatawny Mills/Weidner Mill
One mile southeast of Earlville turn onto Blacksmith Rd. and go 0.5 miles to right turn on Sharonly Dr. If Sharonly Dr. is an entrance to the housing development, take next drive before the creek.
The mill is a 3.5 story stone (2 stories) & brick (1.5 stories) mill about 35'X 55'. Great condition with steel roofing and a windowed cupola.. It is in an area of a newer housing development.
Manatawny Roller Mills is painted across the front of the mill. Some other names for the mill during it's operation were Amity Roller Mill and Glen Alpine Flour Mill.
The Ose Sand Mill, stone and frame construction, was on this site in 1800. It was rebuilt by Solomon Rhoads and then burned in 1855. Mahlon Weidner built the stone/brick mill in 1855, adding the roller process in 1884.
