Located 53 miles north of Cedar City in Beaver, Utah. Exit I-15 either north or south of town onto Utah 160, follow into town and turn east on E.200 North St./Utah 153. The mill is on the left at 915 East 200 North St.
A 2.5 story, 35'X 45' flour mill built of pink quarry stone. Notice the mansard roof has been removed and the mill has been lowered by one story in height.
The original apearance of the Louis W. Harris Flour Mill in Beaver circa 1910.
The 35'X 45' mill built of pink quarried rock remains essentially the same as it did at the turn of the 20th century minus the mansard roof plus wrap-around porches on three sides. No milling equipment remains in the structure.
A close-up of the writing on the front of the mill proclaiming the mill as the Clyde L. Messinger & Sons Flour & Feed Mill, a later owner after Harris' initial ownership & operation.
The rear view of the old mill, originally powered from the water source supplied via canal from North Creek. A gentleman at the Beaver Chamber of Commerce related how, as a boy, he would walk from Main St. to the mill pond at a splash falls on the canal from North Creek to fish. He usually had the pond to himself and was many tiomes rewarded for his efforts with a fine mess of rainbow trout.
The mill is now the home of Dennis & Rhonda Crouch.
