In 1900, Rogers built his first mill in Hamilton. It was a combination gristmill and sawmill. Then in 1907 he bought this mill in Hamilton Station and enlarged same.
That same year he also bought mills in Purcellville and Round Hill. In 1917 he and then partner, John Wilkins bought the Cissell Mill in Georgetown, part of Washington, D.C.

If ever water-powered, it would have been by a tributary of the South Fork of Catoctin Creek.
Rogers died in 1921 and other family members continued the mill operations. In 2010 the Rogers family is still operating the mill.
The Rogers family also owns and operates mills in Ellicott City, Md., the Londonderry Mill in Palmyra, Pa and the Spangler Mill in Mt. Joy, Pa.
