Loganton Mill / Logan Mills
Exit I-80 at Loganton/Roscrans exit onto Pa 477. Go south for 1.5 miles to Loganton, west on Pa 880 for 5.5-6 miles, turn left on Sr 2007 and travel 0.5 miles to the mill and covered bridge at Big Fishing Creek.
The 3.5 story limestone or granite mill, 40'X 60', was built in 1840, and not in 1899 as previously stated, using cut/quarried stone on the face. Perhaps the whole mill is of cut stone. Just south of I-80 a couple miles, the mill operated using two turbines and the water of Fishing Creek. It was vacant in 1983 but, in later years, has been utilized as a craft shop. The covered bridge is a couple hundred yards to the right, crossing the creek, a 63' single span, Queen truss built in 1874. Could use more info as to operation down through the years. *Update: The Logan Mills Mill was not built in 1899 as stated in your entry but by the Kleckner Family in 1840. Jim Frank 10/11/2005*
