The mill is an old mill, date unknown to me, 3.5 stories high and 40' wide and 50' long or deep. Photo by Merrill Miller, mid-1980's. *Update: My grandfather, Paul Heist Wentz, operated this mill c. 1915. He was married to Carrie Musselman Taylor; whose father, Charles Gehman Taylor owned the adjacent upstream farm, which apparently supplied water power to this mill. My grandfather, subsequently operated a nearby dairy on Allentown Road for nearly 30 years, retiring in the mid 1950's. Dean Wentz 04/04/2011*
It had a long raceway with an overshot wheel, the wheel probably internal. Photo: Eva Beiler, Aug 2011. GPS: 40? 27.73'N, 75? 24.72'W 584'/178 meters Milford Square Quadrangle
A frame miller's house stands nearby and the mill was used as a storage facility in the early 1980's, but could have been a residence later. Photo: Jim MIller, july 2007.
