Kummerer's Mill: Site
Go east on N. Main St./Old Route 100 out of Bechtelsville, turn left on Oberholtzer Rd, right on Hill Church Rd., and right on Heydt School House Rd. Follow this road for about 2 miles. the mill is by a dead-end road that branches off to the left just prior to the junction with Angstadt Road.
The miller's house is on the left, a little larger now after various additions.
The mill was close to the miller's house, although nothing remains of the mill today.
The mill was once owned by Jonas Weller. This maybe a relative of the Weller that owned nearby Bechtel's Oil Mill at one time. Later the mill became known as Kummerer's Mill.
No history is know of this smaller stone house across the street. It could have been a small inn to accomodate farmers that might have to spend the night. Its proximity to the road and door central along the front might suggest an inn or tavern.
