Kister Grist & Saw Mill
Situated just south of Wooster, just west off State Route 226, at 3596 Kister Road by Millbrook Creek.
Kister Mill as seen from Twp Hwy 34. The junction with Cr 228 is just to the right of picture about 200 yards, on the eastern edge of the village of Millbrook.

The steel penstock coming from Millbrook Creek and entering the mills south side that houses the covered overshot wheel. *Update: Roger Troutman 03/27/2012. The road past the mill Twp. Road 34 (going east and west)is the township line with Plain Township to the north. Coordinates for the mill itself are: 40D 43' 35.4 N, 82D 0' 18.3" W The west side of Wooster Township is located about a 1/2 mile due east.
This is the south side showing the covered overshot wheel. The surrounding steps and decking were constructed to allow visitors to safely view the wheel.

The overshot wheel is secured to the cog-geared bull wheel. The bull gear is turned by the gearing on the bull wheel, which in turn, rotates the shaft through a lubricating bearing.
The shaft is stabelized, secured, and lubricated by this bearing as it passes through a wall and is connected to the main drive pulley that connect to various other pulleys by means of canvas belts to drive the machinery.
