Verse for Thought
"May the glory of the Lord endure forever; may the Lord rejoice in His works. He looks on the earth, and it trembles; He touches the hills, and they smoke.
({Psalm 104:31&32 NKJV})
The mill was built in 1799 by Thomas & Sarah Twining as a grist mill and was known as Twinings Mills. It was sold to Joseph King in 1811, a man who built the frame mill to the east on Kingtown Rd. at its junction with Upper Kingtown Rd.
The mill, renovated into a private residence sometime after 1982. The 40'X 55' limestone/fieldstone mill, 2.5 stories in height was powered from the Capoolong Creek Cakepoulin Creek-old spelling) flowing north from Pittstown.
