The 2.5 story mill with basement measures about 35'x 50' of native fieldstone and frame construction. The mill was built in a Post Medieval/Federal architectural style in 1734 by Joseph Kenderdine.

The stone millhouse, built in 1780, and mill were owned by Mrs. Charles Harper Smith in April 1983. Since that time up to 1992, the property has undergone a transformation into a posh country residence for a gentleman from Philadelphia.

The only surviving mill in Horsham Twp., the site actually combines four buildings: the mill building, the owner's house, the carriage house, and the stable. A tributary of Park Creek powered an internal waterwheel by way of a millrace. The mill, operating into the early 20th centurey, would only need the waterwheel and belts to be operational. This information was from about 1950, so it might take more today to get it up and running. L Clemmer

Inside the Kenderdine Mill the wooden cogs and shafts remain. The power shaft, used to run the internal elevators, passed the grain to the third floor. The grain dropped down to the milling and sifting areas to be ground into flour. then, equipment was used to sift and bag the ground flour. L Clemmer

This mechanism constructed of wooden pulleys and flywheels are located in the half story under the gable roof. The only thing this could be would be the operating mechanism for the sack hoist.

This photo shows three run of stones with two millstone hoists used to lift the top stone off of the nether stone when it is necessary to dress the millstones.
