Johnsonburg Grist Mill
One mile east of Marksboro on Sh 94 turn right on Mott Road, go 1.5 miles, cross Kerr S. Corner Road, the road should become Mill Road. Go another half miles to the mill aon the left on the corner of Mill Road and Hope-Johnsonburg Road in Johnsonburg, N.J.
A 45'X 50'3.5 story grist mill of one story stone and 2.5 stories of frame construction.
The grounds, including the headrace and tailrace of the mill, are meticulously landscaped as is also the miller's house accordingly. this ids the tailrace from the mill.
The mill pond just up from the headrace and its bypass above the mill.
All that remains as of 2019 is the native stone foundation and partial attached frame.
The headrace bypass flows down from the millpond, bypassing the now closed mill since the mid-1900's.
The miller's house is resplendent, having the same exquisite lanscaping pattern. It is lodcated across Mill Road on the adjacent corner along Hope-Johnsonburg Road.
A slightly different view. Although boarded up, it is still very photogenic in many aspects.
An attractive Victorian barn just east of the mill along the Hope-Johnsonburg Road about an eight of a mile almost in the center of Johnsonburg, a quite rural area.
