John Nyce / Jacob Graeff's Mill
On Pa 29 (Gravel Pike) about halfway between Green Lane and Perkiomenville along the Perkiomen Creek.

A 3 story brick and frame mill on a stone foundation. Built in 1760, it was early known on as 'Jacob Graeff's Mill on the Perkiomen'. The mill has a hip roof with a cupola on the east end. The catshead is on a dormer, the uppermost of 4 doors. The bottom door in the stone basement is offset from the other three and the second door has been bricked in.

The photo shows the mill after a disasterous fire in the early 1990's in which an elderly man died from smoke inhalation. The mill had been converted into a dwelling a few years prior to the fire. *Update: The fire occurred in October 1993. Edward Swade 03/14/2007*
