ILLICK'S Mill
In the Bethlehem's Monacacy Park on Illick's Mill Rd. between Center St. and Schoenersville Rd.
Stone mill mostly of fieldstone construction 2.5 stories high measuring 35'x60'. Windows are boarded primarily because it is now being used as a teen-center by the City of Bethlehem, hence to to eliminate window breakage and maintainence. Kids will be kids! Nicely restored exterior. Interior was not available for view at time of visit in Nov. 1987. Catshead evident on this gable end.
It appears the upper door was removed and rocked in when the west catshead was removed and the partial clerestory added.
Railroad tracks run right behind the mill on the west end.
The inlet for the raceway to the mill for the water of Monocay Creek.
The mill is continuing to be remodeled and updated through the last 20 years.
