Huntsinger's Mill
From the junction of Pa 25 & Pa 125 in Hegins, go north on Pa 125 about 0.5 miles to East Mountain Rd, turn left and go about 0.2 miles to the mill sitting behind the millers house on the left. There is an old road that goes to the mill.
The first mill at this site in Hegins Valley was built in 1801 on Deep Creek.
This is the second mill built at the site. It later became a mill store when the last mill was built.
The last mill built is the large white complex in the center of the vintage postcard photo. It operated into the mid-1960's, then was torn down. The present mill is marked by the arrow.
The second mill/mill store is still standing, perhaps being converted into a dwelling. Deep Creek powered the first two mills, not sure about the third mill.
