Hill-Wanner Mill
From Pa 562 in St Lawrence, turn right on Bingham Road along Antietam Creek. Go north about 0.6 miles, angle right on Butter Lane and go about 1.2 miles and turn left on Exeter Road. The mill is just west of Butter Lane on the right side of Exeter Rd.
A smaller 2.5 story frame mill built in 1790 along Exeter Road at South Creek just SE of the Lower Alsace Twp. line. It is about 1/2 mile from the Wanner-Hartman Mill on Friedensberg Road on out Exeter Road.
The mill has a large frame section added on to the creek side. Used as a grist mill, then later as a rifle-boring mill.
It has been described as in ruins; although somewhat derelict, it seems to have been used as a residence in recent years and is for sale at the present time.
The mill is for sale. It needs to be purchased by someone who will give it tender loving care to stop the deterioration. More history is needed for this mill, share any info you may have with millpictures.com.
The remains of the dam are on South Creek just to the east of the structure. Water flow appears to have worn down the wall of the dam at the spillway, but is still a credible impounding structure.
