Helfrich Springs Grist Mill
North of U.S.22 on Pa.145 1.5 miles, turn left onto Mickley Road. Mill is at Mickley Rd. and Lehnert Road across from the intersection.
*Update: Actually, the mill restoration was completed by the Whitehall Historical Preservation Society (not the Lehigh County Historical Society). It serves as headquarters for the society, which holds its meetings there. Robert Grim 12/29/2007*

Mill was being restored by the county and a Friends group. A crafts sale was in progress at the time of photo Nov. 1987. This the headrace inlet of the mill coming from Jordan Creek.

The mill, built of gray sandstone with a slate roof, is undergoing continued restoration, although the largest bulk has been accomplished. The mill, open to visiters at certain times, was listed on the NRHP 10/14/77. It can be leased for special events & by Community Groups
The mill was built by Peter Grim in 1806 on the site of an earlier log mill built in 1753. This raceway view shows the outlet of the mill which flows into Jordan Creek.
