This museum is a collection of old buildings from around the surrounding area. The mill has been relocated here from the community of Boone's Creek, a few miles from Johnson City, Tn.
The reconstruction of this mill water powered corn & wheat mill began in 2003; and, as you can see, it is still a work in progress in 2012.
The museum is an important showcase of Americana. A great place for "children of all ages" to see how people lived in the days of our forefathers, when chores and jobs were done by simple machinery, horse/ox power, and manpower.
The millhouse was originally built by Coonrod Dove in the late 18th century, and changed hands several times throughout the 19th and 20th centuries before being purchased by Hacker Martin in 1942. It was moved to the museum in 2002. Brian Stansberry - Wikipedia
