Located on the east side of Sh 74 south of Sherman Creek on the millrace, about 2 miles south of Alinda on Sh 74 and about 3 miles southeast of Landisburg via Sr 3017 which meets Sh 74 just north of the mill.
The stone mill was built by John Waggoner in 1805.
Henry R. Wentzel & Sons bought the mill in 1925 and by 1935, had made some major improvements and rebuilding of the main mill structure.
The date stone from the original builder, John Wagoner. Waggoner operated the mill until his death in 1834; then, the mill was deeded to Joseph McClure, then to William A. Snyder in 1854.
McClure and Snyder partnered the operation of the mill from 1854 until McClure died in 1861 and Snyder much later in 1893. The millrace entrance into the mill, tyhe water passing thriough the barscreen to remove large limbs and debris.

Some storage for flour in a warehouse kept up off the ground to help prevent dampness from getting into the flour and causing it to sour and mold.

A flood several years ago crippled the internal waterwheel. A diesel engine power unit is kept ready as a backup for operation power. Repairs to the wheel are ongoing and 82 year old Miles L. Wentzel hopes to have it operational sometime in 2007. Millrace repairs have just been completed. The Wentzels operate this mill and also another mill at S. 4th & Bloomfield Ave. in Newport, Pa.
