H. L. Long Mill & Warehouse
The mill is located at 415 Front Street, a block northwest of US 11 in Liverpool Boro. several blocks northeast of the junction of US 11 and SH 17.
The frame warehouse was built c. 1881 and sometime before 1907, H.A.Long and George Y. Miller decided to start a business centered on feed, grain, coal and building supplies.
Before very long, the partnership ran onto tough sailing, so the partnership was disolved, Miller taking the groceries and hardware, added shortly after forming the partnership and the reason for the split and Long staying with the grain & coal business at the warehouse.
Leon & Lloyd Long helped their father in the business until H. C.'s death in 1954. Leon died in 1959 and the business was sold by Lloyd and heirs the next year to E. K. Freed.
E. K. Freed retired from the feed business in 1975. Today, the mill/warehouse is used as an antique shop. GPS: 76' 59.21, 40' 34.60
