Greenspring Mill
Located onn the south side of Va 671 a short distance west of Va 739. From Winchester, go north on Va 739 to a junction with Va 671 in White Hall. Turn west/left onto Va 671. The mill will be on the left in less than one mile.
Greenspring is an unincorporated community in northern Frederick County, Virginia.
Green Spring lies on the southern flank of North Mountain along Green Spring Run, a tributary stream of Back Creek.
Back Creek itself is a tributary of the Potomec River.
The penstock from the lake impoundment entering the mill to turn the interior steel overshot wheel, which was still in place in 1989.
The impounded water fed by Green Spring Run, thwe source of water power for the operation of the mill in its production days.
In 2009 it is a small grocery store at 617 Greenspring Road. The gas pumps have been removed. GPS: 78 1695W, 39 3043N
