Goodville Roller Mill
On Pa 23 about 4 miles west of Churchtown. Turn left, south, on Frogtown Rd. and the mill is about 500 feet down the road on the left.
The 45'X 56'limestone mill with large sandstone quoins was built in 1811 by Joseph & John Weaver. The mill continued in the Weaver family until 1824, when it was offered as sale property at Lancaster's Orphan Court. Known as Martin's Grist Mill from 1864 through 1899, the mill burned in 1894,and was rebuilt in 1898. Aaron Weaver closed the operations of the mill in 1931 after another disasterous fire and rebuilt it as a barn used for farm & hay storage. Was in good condition in 1999.
An earlier mill may have been on the same tract of land built by Hans Weaver's (Weber) sons, John & Joseph. This mill would have been a 4 story stone grist mill 40'X 60'. This may have been the one rebuilt in 1811 or a different one.
