Gish's Mill
Drive east from Boiling Springs on Sh 174for about 2.4 miles, turn left on Petersburg Road, go about 1.2 miles to the mill on the right, crossing over Lerew Road then Yellow Breeches Creek.
A rather large mill, about 45'X 55' with a full three stories.
The headrace comes off the Yellow Breeches Creek, loops around to the mill entering this inlet and leaving via a lower outlet arch on the opposite side, then ditches under Petersburg Rd. and loops back eastward to the creek.
The outlet arch is near the rear of this side of the mill but is lower down toward the ground. The former mill has been renovated into a residence.
The rear of the mill is pictured in this photo. No history is known about the mill. Some of you mill buffs might know some history of this mill to share.
The miller's house across the road appears to be deserted and becoming rundown.
The barn/sheds are further west of the miller's house and the mill, but like the miller's house is on the opposite side of the road.
